Our impact

We help people thrive, not just survive

Every week, local people come to Feeding Coventry for affordable food, practical advice, friendship, learning opportunities and support through difficult times.

We help people facing food insecurity, poverty, isolation, poor mental health, language barriers and unemployment. Our aim is not simply to meet immediate needs, but to help people build confidence, connection and resilience for the future.

More than food

Food support is often just the beginning of someone's journey with Feeding Coventry.

A visit to the Social Supermarket may lead to advice about benefits or housing. Someone attending an ESOL class may discover volunteering opportunities. A person experiencing isolation may join a gardening session, art group or community activity and find new friendships and renewed confidence.

Our services are designed to work together, helping people access the support they need while creating opportunities to connect, learn and thrive.

Independent evidence of impact

In 2026, researchers from Coventry University explored the impact of our Community Garden and wellbeing activities.

Their findings showed consistently positive outcomes across mental wellbeing, social connection, confidence and sense of purpose.

Participants described the garden as a place of:

  • Positivity, happiness and relaxation

  • Community, friendliness and kindness

  • Support, inclusion and belonging.

Many participants said they felt happier, less anxious, more connected to others and more satisfied with life.

Importantly, the research found the benefits extend beyond individual participants, creating positive effects for families, friendship networks and the wider community.

A trusted community hub

For many people, Feeding Coventry provides more than practical support. It provides connection, friendship and a place where they feel welcome.

For more than six years, Feeding Coventry has been supporting residents in one of Coventry's most diverse and economically challenged neighbourhoods.

We are proud to be a trusted local organisation where people can find practical help, friendly faces, new opportunities, a sense of belonging, and hope for the future.

You are like a family to me and my family.

The Garden Group is very good for mental health. It makes me feel really happy.

Love volunteering … the community centre is absolutely amazing.

The people there made me feel at ease, were very friendly and understanding.

Help us create even more impact

Demand for our services continues to grow.

With the support of funders, businesses, donors and community partners, we can reach more people, expand our programmes and strengthen the support available to local residents.

Together, we can help more people move from crisis to confidence, from isolation to connection, and from surviving to thriving.
